Fetch.

This is actually pretty funny. Albert, our new kitten (who is only 6 months old) has officially been determined to not actually be a cat. He is... get this... a "squo-fer". Part squirrel, part gopher. He is fond of climbing trees and then skipping around up there from branch to branch and from tree to tree just like a squirrel. He also loves- just loves- to dig. Especially for no apparent reason. But now he has anew favorite game, and it's the funniest thing. He loves, more than any other game with his people, to play "fetch". Or "get the mousie" as it's known around here.

No kidding. I thought we had adopted a cat, but it seems I was wrong.

Hope you Remembered your Green...

Happy Saint Patrick's Day, Everyone!

Hope you are all having a terrific weekend! We're having a rather ordinary weekend- the very best kind, I think. The boys played soccer today, and we had a great game! Alexander was very assertive, getting right in there and using some good footwork to get the ball away from the other team. He and a teammate of his, Alan, worked really well together. They passed the ball back and forth down the field, keeping it away from the other team and they almost scored a goal!

Andrew did really well too! He was goalie at one point, and paid very close attention to the game while he was there. He watched where the ball was, anticipating it and moving around, and blocked a couple goals. He did a really good job out on the field as well. One of these days I'll remember to take some pictures with the camera I always take to the games. It never ends up leaving my purse, because I'm so busy talking to Matthew, cheering the boys, and watching the game. Maybe next week.

The Joy of Boys.

Have you ever seen that Tyson commerical where the Dad is playing hide and seek with the kids- and the little boy is perched up the wall near the ceiling? That is totally staged.

This is not. No kidding. Yet another thing I thought I never say- I actually heard myself scolding the children, especially the offender, about how we must not climb the walls.

I'm pretty sure Alexander thought I was going to have a seizure or something. It was nearly impossibleto keep a straight face as I said "You can never climb the walls- again- ever!" Kinda makes me nervous for the next totally unexpected scolding I give.

On an Ordinary Day in March

Yep, it's still March. Can't believe that April hasn't snuck up on me yet! I've been busy with lots of knitting projects, but I'm only going to post about them here and there. Most of the time, I finish a project and give it away before taking a photo. But this hat... oh this hat....

This hat is most definitely mine- I've named it the Fifth hat. Why "fifth"? Because that's about how many times I knitted it, was unhappy, frogged it completely, and started again. (Frogging is to take it apart, unravel it so to speak, for you non-knitters) But, at long last, I have my hat. I could have five- but no, just one. It's warm, it's soft, it's wool and it's red- and it has proven that sometimes it's not 3 but 4 or 5 times that is the charm.

Though Anthony thinks I'm just obsesively perfectionistic when it comes to my knitting. That might be true too. Then again, I have a red scarf and red gloves, but my gloves are a different shade of red. So I think I really need new gloves. With horizontal cables too, to match.
